OK, I am finally in a position to do more than post a picture and type a few characters. I’ve been uploading photos to my facebook page all day. Now, I’m on an Amtrack train, from Providence to DC, for a day off from the Summer for Marriage Tour. (I still have tyo figure out how to get the pics from the blackberry to the blog, but that is another story.)
We had a very ugly counter-rally show up on the statehouse steps in Providence. No harm was done, and our opponents discredited themselves. But if you could have seen them, you would realize how important it is that people show up to defend marriage. for those of you Ruth blog readers who support same sex marriage, I honestly think you woudl have been embarrassed by these people who are speaking in your name.
I will be posting more about this and NOM will be posting info too. But for now, suffice to say, that our opponents: 1. have no arguments. chanting is their substitute for thought. 2. the high decibel level, the rudeness and the name-calling is all designed to keep people from thinking.
I beg you: please come to our rallies, and see for yourselves. Advocates for natural marriage: You will come away energized, determined and motivated! If you were at any of our events so far, in Augusta or Manchester or Albany or Providence, chime in and tell your friends what it was really like.
advocates for same sex marriage, if you saw us going toe to toe, face to face, I think that you would be inclined to rethink your position. As Regular Ruth Readers know, have long said that all the practical problems same sex couples face, can be solved without redefining marriage. So why all the effort and noise to redefvine marriage? I think the sex radicals, including the feminist, the Marxists as well as the gaylobby, have a much more radical agenda of decontructing the family into a collection of individuals, with no social structure at all to support and sustain it. Honestly, my friendly opponents on this blog: do you want or need that ? Will that really improve the quality of your lives?
Well, that is all something to think about.
