Allow me to point out a pattern in the promotion of the Sexual Revolution:
- All we want to do is lower the cost of divorce to the handful of people whose marriages have irretrievably broken down.
- All we want to do is allow abortion for cases of rape and incest.
- All we want to do is allow married couples to use contraception for serious health reasons.
- All we want to do is provide sexual education for children whose parents might not be responsible enough to do it themselves.
- All we want to do is allow underage girls to get abortions and contraception without their parents knowing, because some parents might abuse
the girl.
Never mentioned in any of these historical episodes, is the fact that the purveyors of these lines are simply lying. They want more, much more, than they
are admitting. They know exactly what they are planning to do. They have other, much more extensive purposes than they will admit in public. They know
perfectly well that the public would not accept their larger purpose. They know perfectly well that once the principle is
established in law and social practice, it is much easier to expand the application of that principle into more extensive areas of life. They know perfectly
well that the public would not accept the larger agenda because that more extensive agenda has problems hidden beneath the surface. Out in front of all
these “modest reform” campaigns is the battle cry of freedom. “All we want to do is allow people the opportunity the freedom to make their own choices
about their lives.” Never mind whether we plan to give them full access to the information that would allow meaningful choice. Never mindthat we plan to systematically underestimate the down-side of participating in the Sexual Revolution, while systematically overestimating the benefits.
Never mind whether the choices we are steering people towards even have a remote chance of turning out as promised. No, as long as we can allow
people to go through the motions of making their own decisions, it does not matter how much we manipulate the conditions of their choice-making. We, the
Ruling Class, will never, never mention the fact that we have the resources to buy our way out of the trouble and the problems these liberties caused for
us. In fact, we will never, never admit that there ever were any such troubles or problems. We, the Ruling Class, will never, never notice the fact that
those of modest means, the poor, the working class, even the modestly middle class, cannot buy their way out of these troubles. But in fact, the side effects
from the Sexual Revolution devastated the lives of anyone outside our social class. We, the Ruling Class, will never, never mention the members of our
social class who are making money off of the misery of the poor and working class whose family lives have fallen apart. And now they tell us, “All we want to dois allow two people of the same sex who love each other to get married.” Do they really expect us to believe that this is all they want? Seriously?
