Midweek Motivation: Let God Take Care of You

Have you ever found it hard to let someone take care of you? Do you trust God to take care of you?

Maybe you’ve been the strong one your whole life—the one who holds everything together, who gets things done, who keeps moving even when it hurts. Maybe you’ve learned to rely only on yourself because others have let you down. You’ve been burned, betrayed, abandoned, or overlooked. And when that happens, the instinct to take control of everything can feel like the only way to survive.

Healing—true, deep healing—was never meant to be a journey we travel alone.

Many of us find it hard to fully surrender to God. We might trust Him in theory. However, many of us still try to map out every detail ourselves. We want to know what’s next so we can be prepared and avoid getting hurt again. While that desire for control is a natural response to trauma, grief, and fear, it’s not the way we’re meant to live.

The truth is this: God can and will take care of you. Don’t be afraid to let Him!

Even if you can’t see the road ahead, even when things feel messy, uncertain, or broken, and even if you’ve been disappointed before, God doesn’t expect you to fix everything. He’s not asking you to know every step of the plan. He’s asking you to trust Him, to hand Him your burdens, and to let Him carry what you were never meant to carry alone.

The Daily Decision to Surrender

That kind of surrender doesn’t happen in a moment. It’s a daily decision. Sometimes it’s an hourly one. Regardless, surrender requires practice, prayer, and patience. Each time you hand something over to God, your heart opens a little more to His love and care.

If you’re struggling to surrender, you’re not alone. God sees the difficulty. He honors your effort. Trust that He’s not going anywhere.

So, if you’re holding on tightly today—maybe you’re gripping the reins of your life with white knuckles—pause and take a breath. Whisper a prayer. Ask God for the grace to let go even if it’s just a little. He will meet you in that small act of trust.

Praise God for He is faithful! He is loving and wise, and He wants to take care of you.
