at “Well Versed Future” Conference

Christian Sexual Ethics

Defending Christian Sexual Ethics was Dr. Morse’s topic this last week. Along with such notables as former Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, Attorney Mat Staver (former dean of Liberty University Law School) and heroic Pastor John Koe (a leader of the Underground Church in China), Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., spoke at the Well Versed Future Conference July 20-22 in Arlington, Virginia.

Of her speech, “Defending Christian Sexual Ethics Without Fear or Apology,” Morse explained: “Too often, proponents of traditional values are ill-equipped to defend those values when challenged by sexual radicals. I wanted to give them the tools and the self-confidence to support life and the family in the public arena.”

The conference was organized by Morse’s friend and colleague, Dr. Jim Garlow, former Senior Pastor of Skyline Church in San Diego, CA. Garlow and Morse worked together on California’s successful Proposition 8 campaign, which defined marriage as between one man and one woman, as well as defending Christian Sexual Ethics. Garlow also spoke at the Ruth Institute’s annual Survivors Summit last month.

Garlow explained: “The world is in crisis. So many human institutions are failing. Everyone knows it. We bring biblical principles of governance to government leaders… and the people who elect them. Most people know that the Bible speaks clearly about personal matters, family matters and church matters. However, the Bible also speaks equally clearly regarding civil government.”

Morse, who has spoken internationally on defending Judeo-Christian ethics, said she was honored to participate in the Well Versed Future event. “Jim Garlow is a distinguished evangelical leader. I’m a Roman Catholic. But we work together to maintain the moral foundation of this great republic.”
