Ruth Inst. Summit Explores Past, Present and Future of Marriage and Family

Dr. Jennifer Morse explains that Ruth Institute will explore the past, present, and future of marriage and family at its Summit this summer.

June 7, 2022

“We must learn from the past, confront the challenges of the present, and plan for the future of marriage and family with confidence,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., president of the Ruth Institute. “Those are the themes of our 2022 Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution June 24-25 in Lake Charles, LA.”

The “Learning from the Past” session will include lessons from those who’ve fought and won pro-life and pro-family battles, among them:

  • Apostle Arnold Culbreath, who worked with pro-life pioneer Dr. Jack Willke, creator of a highly successful, widely-utilized pro-life slide show,
  • Eric Scheidler on defending the Pro-life Action League against lawless litigation from the National Organization for Women, and
  • Pastor Jim Garlow on defending marriage in California’s successful Prop 8 campaign defining marriage as between a man and a woman.

“Confronting the Present” will explain the three prongs of the Sexual Revolution and includes:

  • Fr. Shenan Boquet of Human Life International on the Contraceptive Ideology,
  • Dr. Stephen Baskerville on the Divorce Ideology, and
  • Katrina Zeno on the Gender Ideology.

“Facing the Future with Hope” will include a talk on “Activism for the Integrity of the Body: Confronting the Trans Ideology” by Erin Brewer and Maria Keffler, co-founders of Advocates Protecting Children.

For the panel on “Change is Possible,” regarding sexual orientation change efforts, researcher Fr. Paul Sullins will present what the real science shows, and Charlene Cothran and Paul Darrow will provide personal testimonies.

The “Healing the Family” panel will include:

  • Dan and Bethany Meola on “Healing the Adult Children of Divorce,”
  • Lori Hoye on “Healing the Post-Abortive Congregation,” and
  • Dr. Quentin Van Meter on “Why Kids Need Their Parents.”

Morse remarked: “The Summit will explore how we can best learn from past experiences of the pro-life and pro-family movements and prepare for the work ahead.”
