Ruth Inst. Commends Star Wars Shop Owner for Standing up to Trans-Bully
“It’s good to see ordinary people standing up to the transgender ideology,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., commenting on a recent incident in which a man who says he’s a woman staged a confrontation with the owner of a Star Wars store over a store sign. Security video captured the exchange, which has gone viral.
Aberdeen, Washington City Councilor Tiesa Meskis descended on the store, telling owner Don Sucher he was offended by a sign that reads, “If you were born with a d-ck, you are not a chick.”A verbal slugfest ensued, which Sucher, a Vietnam veteran, won handily. Towering over the 78-year-old Sucher, Meskis called the sign “bullsh-t” and insisted, “Trans women are women, sir!” Sucher told Meskis that he fought for free speech in Vietnam and that “9 out of 10 of my customers love the sign.”
Morse commented, “One of these men displayed toxic masculinity at its worst, harassing an old man much smaller than himself. The other man behaved like a good father, standing his ground in defense of the truth, refusing to surrender to a bully. If you watch the video, you’ll see what I mean.”
Morse continued, “A man in a dress berating a septuagenarian shop owner he towers over is not a good visual for the proponents of the Trans Ideology. Meskis, formerly known as Nathan Kennedy, was trying to intimidate Sucher. When Sucher didn’t back down, Meskis kept repeating his inane message. Sucher was not having any part of it. Good for him.
“The so-called transgender movement relies on fear and intimidation. When someone stands up to them, they back off.” Trans-supporters put out a nationwide call for a protest. But Sucher’s supporters outnumbered his detractors.
At 1:25 minute mark in the video, Sucher tells Meskis, “You are not a woman. You don’t look like a woman. You don’t act like a woman.” Morse commented, “Mr. Sucher is right on. I have been a woman my entire life. Mr. Kennedy, who calls himself a woman named Tiesa Meskis, is not even remotely plausible as a woman. I really wish the press, at least the conservative press, would stop referring to him as ‘she.’”
The Ruth Institute has a Transgender Resource Guide with videos, interviews, and research that counter the transgender ideology with facts and logic.
There was also an emphasis on transgender activism at the Institute’s Fourth Annual Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution last month.
