Ruth Inst. to speak at Kenya Family Symposium

Ruth Institute Coalitions Director, Don Feder, will speak on “The Fate of Nations Hinges on the Future of Marriage” at the Kenya Christian Professionals
Forum (KCPF) symposium, “Families in Crisis; Hope for Restoration,” on May
14, 2 am to 5 am EST, 9 to noon East Africa Time.

Other speakers include:

Robert Colquhoun from 40 Days for Life on “Digital Families; the new normal of family life under Covid-19.”

Evarlyne Mboya from the Office of Director of Kenya’s Criminal Investigation, Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit on “Traps and Dangers of the Internet; How safe is your family online?”

Caroline Maingi from the Program for Family Development at Strathmore Business School in Nairobi on “Navigating
Parenting through and post-pandemic.”

Patience Mutie Muthenya, KCPF Programs Manager, said, “Since the COVID pandemic began in Kenya, there has been a steep increase in family crises: domestic
violence, divorce, suicides, spousal murders, teenage pregnancies, pedophiles going after children online, etc.”

Feder observed: “Marriage is central to everything that we, as family advocates, care about: procreation, childrearing, social cohesion, and curing existential
loneliness. Civilization will rise or fall based on whether marriage as an institution is renewed or continues on its current course of decline and
eventually fades to oblivion. “

On March 23, Feder spoke at a KCPF Virtual Life Symposium, on “The View from Sinai: a Jewish Perspective on Abortion.”

Besides his work with the Ruth Institute, Feder was a syndicated columnist for 19 years. He also helped to organize pro-family conferences and other events
in the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe. In Africa, he’s spoken in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Malawi.

The Kenya Christian Professional Forum has members from various denominations who share values on family, life, religious freedom and social justice.
