The U.K.’s National Health Service (NHS) study found “remarkably weak evidence” to support gender transitioning minors and young adults. “We are not surprised,” said Ruth Institute president Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. “We’ve been monitoring reports from detransitioners for a while. The tragedy is that doctors performed these untested interventions in the first place. We are, in effect, gathering data by experimenting on children.”

Morse continued, “The burden of proof should have always been on the side of those claiming these outrageous ‘treatments’ were both safe and effective. It should not be incumbent upon those opposed to ‘gender transitioning’ to prove this is a bad idea. Gender treatment doctors should have been forced to prove the efficacy of their so-called interventions.”

“To add insult to injury, the adult gender clinics are now resisting sharing their data with the University of York study. Evidently, the adult gender clinics are not confident about what their data will show,” Morse said.

The leader of the NHS study was Dr. Hilary Cass, former president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. The Cass Report noted that six of the seven U.K. adult gender clinics refused to participate. Elsewhere, data was conveniently unavailable. “This seems unacceptable in the digital age,” the Cass Report notes.

Countries around the world are becoming skeptical about the misnamed “gender-affirming care.” Australasian Psychiatry reports: “The gender-affirming model of care is incompatible with competent, ethical medical practice.” Sweden, Finland, Norway, and France have already restricted trans procedures for minors.

Morse emphasized, “But the U.S.’s Health and Human Servies (HHS), led by Richard-turned-Rachel Levine has doubled down on claiming transing teens is necessary for their well-being. Are we really supposed to believe that Richard is unbiased? The HHS’s supposed evidence is only two pages long. The Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine’s fact-checking of the document shows serious errors and misrepresentations besides.”

“It’s no wonder major medical associations are declining to comment. They don’t have a leg to stand on. What can they really say in response to this comprehensive review by top doctors in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service? The Cass Report, coupled with the release of the damning WPATH files (World Professional Association for Transgender Health), is dissolving the scientific basis for performing these experimental procedures on minor children.”

“The simplest and best cure for gender dysphoria is puberty. Compassionate talk therapy, allowing the child to explore his or her feelings, is the ‘first, do no harm’ approach. If doctors care about children, why not just let them grow up?”
