Finding Freedom Through Forgiveness

Freedom allows us to choose hope and peace.

by Faith Hakesley Forgiveness is a tough topic for a lot of us. When someone hurts us, our human inclination can sometimes be to hold onto the resentment and bitterness and withhold forgiveness. Jesus asks just the opposite of us. However, this calling to forgive does not come without effort.  Forgiveness – particularly when we […]

Sexual Revolution Enables Abusers like Epstein and McCarrick

For more information, contact: Rachel Golden info@ruthinstitute.org “The Sexual Revolution says we’re all entitled to sex. But who actually believes such a thing? The rapist, that’s who!” –Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, President of the Ruth Institute. Ruth Institute Founder and President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse Ph.D. said that Jeffrey Epstein, Harvey Weinstein and former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick were all enabled by society’s acceptance of the ideology of the sexual revolution. Writing in the July 10th National Catholic Register, Morse noted that all three were aided by “a belief system that claims that sex is an entitlement. They operated according to the tenets of the most powerful ideology in the world: the ideology of the sexual revolution.” Morse urged us to reject the rationalization that, “The rich and powerful have always been able to buy their way out of problems.” Yes, wealth, fame and power aided predators like Epstein. But the tenets of the sexual revolution softened up their victims. These tenets include: Sex is no more than a physical act. What are you ashamed of? And everyone is entitled to do whatever they can get away with. “This toxic belief system is destroying individual lives and leading to social chaos,” Morse observed. The Ruth Institute opposes this with “The Catholic belief system which tells us no one is entitled to sex. Children are entitled to a relationship with both of their parents. Women and men are entitled to the love and loyalty of their spouses.” “Our belief system of traditional Christian sexual ethics has made us Public Enemy No. 1 of the sexual revolutionaries,” Morse added. The Ruth Institute works to empower survivors of the sexual revolution – including victims of divorce, abuse and the LGBT culture. In April, the Institute held the first-ever Survivors’ Summit in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The Institute has been particularly effective in researching the crisis of clerical sex abuse, with its reports on homosexuality and the priesthood being cited around the world. In a J

Ruth Institute Releases Study on the Role of “Sexual Orientation” in the Catholic Clerical Sex Abuse Scandal

For more information, contact Beth Johnson: media@ruthinstitute.org The Ruth Institute released a study by Fr. Paul Sullins, Ph.D., that sheds new light on the sexual abuse scandal which has rocked the Catholic Church for years. The study analyzes national data collected by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, data codified from the 1100-page Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report released in August 2018, and data from a 2002 survey of Catholic priests by the Los Angeles Times. The Ruth Institute study shows: a disturbing recent increase in the number of sexual incidents reported since 2010. a strong correlation between the percentage of self-described homosexuals in the Catholic priesthood and the incidence of sexual abuse of minors by the clergy. Ruth Institute Founder and President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse says: “To properly access the sexual abuse scandal which has plagued the Catholic Church for decades now, certain issues must be confronted with an uncompromising commitment to learning the truth wherever it leads us – even if that truth is politically incorrect.” Fr. Sullins added, “The data file compiled from the Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report is available at our new webpage (ruthinstitute.org/clergy-sex-abuse) dedicated to gathering information about the clergy sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. We invite other researchers to take advantage of the opportunity to utilize this data. “ The Ruth Institute is a global non-profit organization equipping Christians to defend their beliefs about the family to create a culture of lifelong married love. The Ruth Institute has responded to the latest round of clergy sex abuse revelations by encouraging the laity to do two things: Insist on justice regarding clergy sex abuse. That includes punishment for the guilty, protection for the innocent and restoration for the victims, as far as humanly possible. Proclaim the full truth of the Church’s teaching on marriage, family and human sexuality. Dr. Morse has a Ph.D. in economics and taught at Yale and George Mason Univer

Ruth Institute Report Offers Proper Perspective on Clerical Sex Abuse

For more information, contact: Elizabeth Johnson. Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, president of the Ruth Institute, said most coverage of the Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report on Clerical Sex Abuse overlooks significant facts. The Institute’s publication, “Questions and Answers on The Clerical Sex Abuse Scandal” puts the recent findings by a Pennsylvania grand jury on clerical sex abuse in proper perspective. Dr. Morse stated, “The Ruth Institute has utmost sympathy for the victims of clerical predation, and revulsion at those who covered up the crimes. We encourage anyone who has been abused to come forward.” At the same time, she noted that the Ruth Institute report discloses important facts sometimes overlooked or ignored by the media: Some news stories give the impression that “sexual orientation” played no role in past or current clergy abuse scandals. However, two studies by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice (commissioned by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops) in 2004 and 2011 found that over 80% of those abused were victims of male-on-male predation by priests against under-age (pre-teen and teenaged) boys. This pattern of male-on-male predation continues in recent revelation of abuse of seminarians and is also illustrated in many of the cases in the Pennsylvania Grand Jury’s report. There has been an active homosexual subculture in the Catholic Church, which operates in seminaries and dioceses. In a 2002 survey of almost 2,000 Catholic priests by the Los Angles Times, 44% of respondents confirmed the existence of this subculture. This subculture has contributed to the patterns of abuse in the Church. These findings actually affirm official Catholic teaching. Contrary to the claims of the Sexual Revolution, sexual self-mastery is possible, and necessary for a good life. Fr. Paul Sullins, Ph.D., the author of “Questions and Answers on the Clerical Sex Abuse Scandal,” is a retired Professor of Sociology at the Catholic University of America, and currently Senior Research Associate at the Ruth Institute. What could end Rush Limbaugh’s career?

by Dr. Michael L. Brown This article originally appeared on OneNewsNow.com It was surprising to hear Rush Limbaugh say the words, “I don’t have the guts to bring it up” — but he did, on November 8, to his massive radio audience. Rush Limbaugh lacking the guts to address something publicly? Rush Limbaugh not willing to tackle controversy? Really? He was responding to a statement by a caller named Lawrence as they discussed Joe Paterno and the scandal at Penn State. Rush: “You know, if I really wanted to retire today I could answer you in a way that would end my career. Well, of course I’m therefore not gonna say it …. There is a part of this story — it’s glaring; it’s right in front of everybody — and nobody’s got the guts to say it. Nobody, including me. I don’t have the guts to bring it up. Nobody does.” Caller: “What’s that?” Rush: “Nobody has the guts to actually give the explanation for what was going on and why there was trepidation in reporting it, and that’s all I’ll say. If you can figure it out on your own, fine and dandy ….” What was Rush talking about? Let’s put this in context. If there is any prominent figure in America who does not bow down to political correctness or media pressure, it is Rush Limbaugh. In fact, he’s on record as saying that when people try to silence you, you should shout louder. Long-time listeners of his show remember his 8-year assault on President Clinton as Slick Willie (an assault that continues to this day), his constant mocking of Vice President Al Gore as Algore (as in “Igor”), his reviling of the “environmentalist wackos,” his attacks on the “feminazis,” his mocking of Black Muslim leader Louis Farrakhan as Calypso Louie, his insulting imitation of Senator Barney Frank (to name one among many), his renaming of TV channels, such as PMSNBC, and his incessant criticism of “Barack Hussein Obama, mmmm, mmmm, mmmm,” not to mention his frequent playing of the “Barack the Magic Negro” musical parody, featuring the “voice” of Rev. Al Sharpton. He takes on the president, the Congr
